The Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV, says there are no bad words, only
bad thoughts and bad intentions. Sure, not everyone will agree, although most who find some words offensive would be hard
put to explain why. Words, after all, are just sounds that we have assigned meanings to. I think we can all agree, no matter
how liberal we are, some words are just not appropriate for general conversation. There always have been and will continue
to be censors, the thought police who would control our thinking and our expression.
Obviously, the first step in learning to talk dirty, in a way that is erotic, is to make a list of those words you are
comfortable with and those you would dare not say. Take a close look at your forbidden words and ask yourself why you cannot
make the combination of sounds that form each forbidden word. Ask yourself why, for example, you can say the word with the
letters f-o-r-k, but not speak the word spelled f-u-c-k. Who taught you that some words are unspeakable?
The purpose of this short article is not to try to convince you that you must use every "dirty" world in a phone sex conversation,
a cybersex exchange or in bed with your lover. Rather, the intent is to encourage you to look at words and to objectively
examine your feelings and thoughts surrounding those that have been "off limits." Are there some just across the boundary
that actually have erotic power? Are there some that could proved some dirty fun? Are there some that actually cause a tingle
when you say or write them, or that you know will stir a response when heard or read?
Will you agree that saying "I love the sounds you make when you orgasm" lacks the impact of the statement "God, I love
hearing your sounds when you come!" Certainly there are hotter ways than saying "I want to orally stimulate your penis," or
". . . your vulva." Is "I want to suck your cock" or "I want to eat your pussy" off limits? If so, why?
Listen to the sounds and words in a pornographic DVD and pay attention to how they are said. Read the dialog in an explicit
erotic novel, and look for the author's clues on the tone of voice. Are the hot phrases whispered or mixed with sighs or
moans? Practice in your head those words or phrases that you have been uncomfortable with. Say the words out loud and
listen to how you sound. Remember, delivery is everything.
The how is important, but so too is the when. Think about what you like best about your partner's body or his/her sexual
response. What do you like best receiving? What do you like best doing? Let your partner know these things as they are
happening.
Surprise your partner once in a while. Leave an erotic message on his/her answering machine, or send one to his/her work
email address.
